Victory Day in Belarus falls on May 9th each year celebrating Germany's surrender to the Soviet Union in 1945 as part of World War 2

People can attend a large military parade in Red Square in Moscow or watch old World War 2 movies that honor veterans and their service. There are also many local parades throughout the country celebrating war veterans.

History

The Soviet Union lost about 25 million citizens in World War 2 fighting the Germans. Victory Day is the day that the Germans surrendered to the Soviet Union back in 1945.
