October Revolution Day in Belarus always falls on November 7th each year commemorating the Bolshevik takeover of the government from the Provisional Government.

People can attend parades and other patriotic events of the day. After the fall of the Soviet Union many of the soon to be independent states dropped this holiday but Belarus and Kyrgyzstan kept the holiday. This is a national holiday with government and business offices closed.
History
On November 7th , 1917 a blank shot from the cruise Aurora signaled the start of the assault on the Winter Palace in Petrograd. In this battle the Bolsheviks overthrew the Provisional Government made up of lords, nobles and aristocrats and established Soviet Russia.
