International Womens Day - Ukraine

In Ukraine International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th each year and celebrates the achievements of women.

Celebration\ Observance

People can attend conferences and public talks all behind promoting equality among the genders. It is tradition to buy flowers, cards or other small gifts for females to celebrate their day.

History

Women's right day in Ukraine was a holiday started back in 1965 under Soviet control of Ukraine. When Ukraine got its independence from the Soviet Union they decided to keep the holiday in place.
