Good Friday - Greece

Good Friday is a Christian holiday that shows respect for the Crucifixion of Jesus. This holiday occurs the Friday before Easter.

Celebration\ Observance

This holiday is celebrated with family and friends and a midnight feast of lamb tripe, rice, dill and lemon. The next day the rest of the lamb will be finished with wine and dancing. Most buildings are closed however some may remain open.

History

This holiday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his journey through the desert and when he re-entered Jerusalem.
