Year 2010 has 365 days and is not considered a leap year. The next leap year is 2012 and will have 366 days. The extra day in the year 2012 will fall on February 29th to help offset that the earth does not orbit around the sun in exactly 365 days. So every 4 years an extra day is added by extending February from 28 days to 29 days on the leap year with a few exceptions for years that are divisable by 100.
